In a world that constantly tests the resolve of women leaders, Resilient Her: Navigating Leadership Challenges with Confidence emerged as a powerful reminder that resilience isn’t just a trait—it’s a practice. Held on March 13, 2025, as a parallel event for the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), this 90-minute interactive workshop brought together an inspiring panel of women leaders who are actively reshaping the narrative around leadership, equity, and impact. Moderated by trauma expert and filmmaker Tamara Jackson, the session created a space where strength met vulnerability. Through deeply personal stories, group activities, and actionable tools, the event gave participants practical strategies to lead with confidence—especially in times of uncertainty. The panel included: Florine Clomegah-Freitas, a former senior leader at Médecins Sans Frontières and the Red Cross, who shared lessons from global humanitarian crises and how to lead with both strategy and compassion. Yvonne Huatin Chow, founder of House of Chow, who highlighted the power of creative leadership through hip-hop and community building. Taneshia Nash-Laird, Executive Director of Project REAP, who spoke on navigating intersections of culture, commerce, and social justice with unwavering purpose. Behind the scenes and on the frontlines were contributors Colette Dill-Lerner, a seasoned marketing and growth strategist with decades of experience making community impact by supporting grassroots efforts, and Barbara Horne, a digital transformation consultant and trainer and UN Representative with a passion for building systems that center justice and sustainability. Together, this dynamic group created a unique space for women to gain not only insight and inspiration, but also a sense of shared community. Attendees left with tools to build resilience, stories to carry forward, and a renewed confidence to lead. Whether in-person near the UN Headquarters or tuning in virtually via Zoom, participants connected with women from across the globe—each committed to leading change in their own way.
